New boots, new game
A few weeks back, Plei teamed up with Eleven Football, the brand behind some of the most talked-about turf shoes in the game right now, to give away a pair of their TF1s to one lucky player in the DMV.
The response said it all. Over 126 players threw their name in, representing exactly the kind of community we've been building in the DMV—people who love the game and show up for it.
But here's where it gets good...
Who won?
When it came time to deliver the prize, we didn't just ship a box. The Plei team made the trip out to Sports World in Columbia, Maryland, one of the DMV's most beloved pickup spots, alongside Ben Chehebar, the founder of Eleven Football himself, to surprise the winner in person.
The winner? Tobi Odunlami. A Plei player, a community member, and now the proud owner of a fresh pair of TF1s.
We caught up with Tobi on the spot, handed him his new boots, and watched him lace them up right there at Sports World, surrounded by his fellow Plei players, the energy of a live game, and a founder who genuinely wanted to see his product on someone who deserved them.
That moment right there is exactly what Plei is built for. Not just the app, not just the games, but the real connections that happen when a community shows up for each other.
